Against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel's First Family is forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, while defending Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer.
Event Horizon (1997) walked so Fantastic Four: First Steps could roller-skate through space in matching blue fits, bro. This ain’t horror-core like the OG space nightmare, but it’s got that same “yo, we prob shouldn’t be out here” energy. Pedro Pascal gives Mr. Fantastic that calm-before-the-wormhole vibe, like Sam Neill before he ripped his eyes out, except this dude’s more stretchy than sketchy. Vanessa Kirby crushes it as Sue Storm, serious face and secret pain, kinda like if the Event Horizon ship had feelings. Julia Garner as Silver Surfer gives off straight-up “I’ve seen death and vibes” energy, just floatin around like she’s heard the screams from the other dimension. The 1960s retro-future aesthetic is fire — way brighter than Event Horizon's blood-slick halls, but still got that cold edge under the glow. It’s not as deep or twisted, but this thing’s got style, stress, and some emotional breakdowns between cosmic punches. Its not a full trip to hell, but def a weird cruise through space with emotional baggage and rock monsters.
