"Greased Lightning" effortlessly fits the mold of 70s car chase/race films. The classic narrative of a moonshine runner outwitting the local sheriff, leading to numerous car wrecks, is prevalent. Yet, for me, it was Scott's confrontation with racism, infused with a sprinkle of hope, that elevated the film and made it worth watching.
