Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh
Step brothers Drake and Josh must give a foster family the best Christmas ever or face years in jail for a Christmas party gone wrong.

I just watched Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh, and I give it 4 out of 5 stars. This movie is exactly what you want it to be — a goofy, feel-good holiday special with all the chaos and heart that made Drake & Josh one of the best Nickelodeon shows ever. It’s over-the-top, ridiculous at times, and full of that classic sibling energy that never gets old. Watching it now honestly brought back so many memories, and it still made me laugh more than I expected.
Right from the start, it feels like an extended episode of the show, but with a holiday twist and a bigger story. Drake is still laid-back and trying to coast through life without responsibility, and Josh is still the lovable, nervous guy who wants to follow the rules and do things right. Their personalities clash in all the usual ways, but it never gets old. There’s just something about their dynamic that works every time — no matter how wild the situation gets, they somehow keep the chaos grounded.
The story is centered around Drake promising a little girl the best Christmas ever — while dressed as Santa — and of course, it spirals completely out of control. From being forced to deliver on that promise to dealing with a courtroom, community service, and a whole list of Christmas wishes, the movie keeps the plot moving and adds in a bunch of fun characters along the way. Some of the situations are totally insane, but that’s kind of what makes it fun.
Josh Peck is great in this, especially when everything around him is falling apart. His reactions are just perfect. Whether he’s freaking out, trying to keep things together, or getting stuck in a mess he didn’t cause, he’s always funny and easy to root for. Drake Bell brings his usual charm, and even when he’s being irresponsible, you can’t help but like him. It’s nice seeing their brotherly bond grow as the movie goes on, especially with the Christmas spirit starting to rub off on both of them.
The supporting cast is solid too. Megan, as always, shows up with her savage one-liners and perfectly timed pranks. Crazy Steve steals every scene he’s in. And the new characters — especially the family Drake promises Christmas to — are sweet and bring some emotional weight to the story. There are some heartfelt moments that actually hit, which surprised me in a good way. It’s still a comedy, but there’s a real message about kindness, giving back, and family under all the chaos.
The humor is very Nickelodeon — lots of slapstick, misunderstandings, and over-the-top physical comedy. Some of it is a little corny, but that’s part of the charm. The Christmas theme adds a fun energy to everything. Lights, decorations, carols, and even snow — it all comes together to make the movie feel festive and cozy.
I give Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh 4 out of 5 stars because it’s a fun, nostalgic holiday movie that knows exactly what it is. It’s not trying to be deep or serious — it’s just trying to make you laugh and remind you of what made the show so great. And it totally succeeds. Overall Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh is a fun, heartwarming Nickelodeon Christmas special that brings all the laughs, chaos, and brotherly love you remember. It’s the kind of movie that makes you smile — and sometimes, that’s all you need during the holidays.
