A commercial diver is stranded on the seabed with only five minutes of oxygen supply, but with no chance of rescue for more than 30 minutes. With access to amazing archival footage, this is the true story of one man’s impossible fight for survival.

Just watched the 2025 Hollywood version of this story, but my buddy (a saturation diver himself) told me that I should check out this documentary if I wanted a better idea of the mechanics and logistics of how a saturation dive works.
Definitely agree, this is so much more clear about what’s happening, what’s at stake than the recent film. Not only that, it even hits the emotional beats harder because we’re getting crew and some families first hand accounts of their experiences and their emotional reactions. Definitely worth checking out. It’s kind of insane what these guys do on a regular basis, let alone what happens in this story when sh🤩 hits the fan. Absolutely wild how long it took them to try the old-turn-it-off-and-turn-it-back-on. Is that not step one, anymore?
