Told by the pioneering women who participated, this is the extraordinary story of the 1971 Women's Soccer World Cup, a tournament witnessed by record crowds that has been written out of sporting history - until now.

This documentary shines an entertaining light on a competition that has been all but written out of sports history. The story is told through interviews with the women who participated, along with archival footage and photos. It's clear from the interviews how much this meant to them and it's heartbreaking to see the challenges and roadblocks that were put up in their way, both at the time and—even more shameful—after the fact. It's also a celebration of the progress made in the 50+ years since, though there's still plenty left to do. If you enjoy football/soccer, do yourself a favor and set aside a little time to watch this.
