More of a Silent Hill movie than an Until Dawn.
Sony needed to work a little faster on this one so they could afford Hayden Panettiere and Rami Malek but it's also a little funny that they stunt cast the game but not the movie.
It leaves a too many questions unanswered to suspend disbelief, and it's sometimes (mostly unintentionally) funny. But I think the concept suffered in the adaptation to film. Until Dawn as a game was interesting because your actions permanently affected the game through who lived and died. In this movie it's reduced to a bit and so the stakes feel considerably less dire.
