Heart wrenching and humorous. The original movie sought to highlight the UK’s unemployment crisis. The TV show is a wonderful homage, pointing out how our society has not only stayed the same, but deteriorated massively in the last 25 years. It’s blunt, it doesn’t beat about the bush, putting its point across, whilst bringing a tear to our eyes and making us laugh hysterically with the gang’s shenanigans. This show is not just recommended, it’s a MUST watch, for anyone living in modern day Britain.
