"Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" doesn’t quite live up to the hype as a sequel to the beloved original. While it clearly aims to recapture the quirky charm and dark humor that made the first film a classic, it often feels like it’s trying too hard. The humor, instead of feeling organic and effortlessly funny, comes across as forced and overdone. The magic and spontaneity that defined the original are largely missing, replaced by an over-reliance on nostalgia and spectacle. While there are a few enjoyable moments, the film ultimately struggles to justify its existence, leaving longtime fans wanting more.
