Astronauts landing on Venus encounter dangerous creatures and almost meet some sexy Venusian women who like to sun-bathe in hip-hugging skin-tight pants and seashell brassieres.
“Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women” is a late-’60s stitched-together B-movie sci-fi film that features dubbed dialogue and heavy-handed narration. The Venusian women, clad in seashells and hot pants, never speak aloud, their presence underscored by a constant stream of melancholic music. There’s little story and even less coherence, but for film buffs, the real reason to watch is simple: this is where Peter Bogdanovich’s directing career began.
