The Teacher has a little bit of an identity crisis at times, but its strongest moment comes near the end with the gut-punch confrontation: "To your people, your son is worth 1,000 of mine." That line alone cuts deeper than any of the film’s dramatic beats. Compelling narrative concerned with the Israeli occupation of even if it leans into some heavy-handed dramatic beats. The unnecessary romance with Imogen Poots’ feels very out of place and pulls focus from the bigger themes.
