It is a feel good movie from the 80s. It was the first movie I watched on HBO when I was 11, before cable existed and you needed a special Antenna. It was the first movie I remember loving all on my own - not because oh blockbuster hype, not because someone colored my opinion of it ahead of time, but because it spoke to me. I watched it again for the first time in 42 years, and I loved it just as much as I did the first time I saw it. Full disclosure - my rating may be heavily weighted by nostalgia.
