There’s a very dark humour to this film, that sadly, feels not too far from the truth. If you’re hoping that it might provide a little more faith in the justice system for you, you’ll be disappointed. Extremely sad, and moving elements are given either a light hearted gloss, or a simply depressing, glance at the stark realities of life. That feeling that sometimes you have to laugh or you’ll cry. Life isn’t fair. Right and wrong, is irrelevant.
The only real let down is an odd soundtrack that has more place in a US, light hearted cop show, and feels out of place. Other than that, Pacino et al give strong performances across the board, in what should be, but probably isn’t, an eye opening story. There really isn’t justice for all.
