The Deep

The Deep
When the world's diminishing sources of energy, vast untapped oil, and gas below the seabed of the Arctic become a source of international conflict and the Cold War, a research submarine with the elite of scientists and experts from Britain, Russia, and the U.S. goes into the ocean to find a solution to the global energy crisis. In addition to deposits of precious resources, the abyss also hides a dark secret.

The Deep had potential with its underwater mystery and solid cast, but it never quite delivers. The pacing is slow, the plot drags in places, and honestly—it gets a bit boring. While the claustrophobic setting had some tense moments, they’re few and far between. It’s watchable, but don’t expect to be on the edge of your seat. More deep sighs than deep thrills.
