Incendies

Incendies
A mother's last wishes send twins Jeanne and Simon on a journey to the Middle East in search of their tangled roots. Adapted from Wajdi Mouawad's acclaimed play, Incendies tells the powerful and moving tale of two young adults' voyage to the core of deep-rooted hatred, never-ending wars and enduring love.

I’ve rarely felt so emotionally drained after a film. I think I just sat there for half an hour after it ended, refusing to process what I had just witnessed. The intensity and the way Villeneuve crafts this masterpiece are absolutely one of a kind. On top of that, the mindfuck factor is off the charts. A powerful statement against war—though not your typical anti-war film, it’s the first one that will come to mind for me from now on.
