One of the best and most watched TV movies ever made during the broadcast era of television. The always underrated Darren McGavin creates a memorable TV character in Karl Kolchak, spawning a sequel and a 1974 TV series in the process. The latter would become a favorite to fans of the supernatural. I know. I was one of those fans.
