A supernatural occurrence in Morocco separates Itto from her husband and she tries desperately to get back to him. Pregnant, alone and scared the phenomenon that’s happening has her questioning her faith. What does this mean for her existence? Faith and religion are common themes in “alien invasion” films and shows, but it’s refreshing to see a film like this that has an non-christian centered, islamic perspective. I the genre is ripe for more stories like this. While I don’t think the film finds a satisfactory conclusion, I really enjoyed Itto’s journey. Some really beautiful framed shots elevate the picture as does Oumaïma Barid’s performance.
