The Peasants

The Peasants
Jagna is a young woman determined to forge her own path in a late 19th century Polish village - a hotbed of gossip and on-going feuds, held together, rich and poor, by adherence to colorful traditions and deep-rooted patriarchy.

Absolutely stunning animation, I was mindblown with it’s beauty, vastness and ethereal vibe. Very trippy as well, I’m definitely gonna rewatch parts of this movie while high. The soundtrack is also really freaking good. The story was alright, it isn’t bad but wasn’t my cup of tea so I got a bit bored. There were a few powerfully striking scenes. A lot of good themes were explored but the movie was too long and could’ve benefited from faster pacing. I enjoyed Loving Vincent and I wish they’d animated a better story but I’m glad I got to discover the new genre of Chłopomania.
