The series stars comedian Joe Pera as a fictionalized version of himself, living in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and teaching choir at a local middle school. Pera attempts to talk directly to the audience about seemingly mundane subject matter such as iron, Sunday breakfast, fall drives, dancing, sleeping, and music.

Such a sincere show about the little things in life, about finding joy, about living well. Joe Pera sneaks in some hilarious moments, but the show leaves the viewer with a profound sense of goodness, more than anything. A rare show with no notes. This may be the best thing that Adult Swim produced in its storied history.
