Mission: Impossible

Mission: Impossible
When Ethan Hunt, the leader of a crack espionage team whose perilous operation has gone awry with no explanation, discovers that a mole has penetrated the CIA, he's surprised to learn that he's the prime suspect. To clear his name, Hunt now must ferret out the real double agent and, in the process, even the score.

Clocking in at 110 minutes this film feels a lot longer than it actually is, with slow and plodding heist scenes and an overly complicated story this first entry in the Mission Impossible franchise had its up and its definite downs. Chopping off 10 to 15 minutes of fluff would’ve done this film a lot more justice and still told its story well, but I rank this film highly for its performances, set design, music and effects. An average film that is definitely an enjoyable watch but has too much going on for it to be ranked higher.
