28 Days Later
Twenty-eight days after a killer virus was accidentally unleashed from a British research facility, a small group of London survivors are caught in a desperate struggle to protect themselves from the infected. Carried by animals and humans, the virus turns those it infects into homicidal maniacs -- and it's absolutely impossible to contain.

One of-- If not, THĒ-- greatest "zombie-apocalypse" films ever made! In 2002, 28 Days Later shocked the world by resurrecting the the horror-subgenre that would become a cultural phenomenon as a wave of the living-dead took over every form of media from comicbooks to television & videogames to blockbuster films & comedies! The infected were everywhere and have sustained themselves for over 2 decades having become a major part of Pop Culture.
This film is quintessential to the creation of the 21st Century "Infectious Pandemic/Zombie Apocalypse"-- And I KNOW!... "tHEiR nOt zoMBiES!! tHeRe iNFeCteD!!" Yes, but nearly NO zombie movie has ever referred to their undead ghoulish creatures from beyond the grave as "zombies", but we still call them zombies because they are infected in some way the hijacked their mind/body to attack others against their will.
In conclusion, not only is 28 Days Later A zombie movie, it may actually be THE zombie movie!
