The movie grabs you from the opening titles set to a dramatic score of Adagio in G minor. Then the fabulous wide-screen cinematography becomes immediately evident in the opening scene, set in the year 1915. We go from Western Australia, to Egypt, and then to Turkey in this story of fictional characters against the backdrop of true events. Events that Australians will never forget.
This is a well-done production on all levels. A moving and poignant story of idealistic young men and their loss of innocence at the hands of war and it's sobering consequences.
