Dangerous (2021) is a slick, tension-filled action thriller that truly delivers more than expected. Scott Eastwood gives one of his strongest performances yet as Dylan Forrester, an emotionally reserved but brilliant ex-con and former sociopath trying to stay straight after his brother's mysterious death. What starts as a simple funeral visit turns into a brutal showdown, and the film wastes no time throwing us into the action.
Director David Hackl blends intelligence with explosive moments, offering something more than your typical shoot-'em-up. The dialogue is sharp, the pacing tight, and the emotional undertone surprisingly sincere. Mel Gibson, playing Dylan's offbeat psychiatrist, steals every scene he's in with his trademark sarcasm and unpredictability. Tyrese Gibson and Famke Janssen round out the cast with solid performances, each bringing weight to a gritty, isolated island drama that turns survivalist thriller in the best way.
