Before Anthony Perkins was psychotic Norman Bates he was anxiety-plagued Jimmy Piersall in this true story. Perkins adeptly portrays a man struggling to manage his career, life, and relationships while in the throes of mental illness.
Less a movie about baseball and more about a man playing hardball with his demons. Good acting, good flick, not a home run but a solid triple.
