In July 1939, British hunter Thorndike, vacationing in Bavaria, has Hitler in his gun sight. He is captured, beaten, left for dead, and escapes back to London where he is hounded by German agents and aided by a young woman.

"Man Hunt" is a prewar propaganda piece featuring a superhero-like English gentleman who views romance as beneath him. While the plot may seem silly, it’s told so compellingly that you can't help but enjoy it. Not knowing what the future brings, a 1941 audience would be even more engaged, and its ending would be more impactful.
