this was extremely confused about whose story was being told here, and/or was entirely ham-fisted in its attempt to entangle two narratives. Lurching, drawn-out, repetative. I have real sympathy for the writer, and have always like her husband.... but her self-absorbtion and drug addictions were exhausting and, frankly, tedious. I'm sure the majority of any audience was wanting to learn more about the actual case, the mind of the killer, and the decades-long investigation.
