this could have/should have been so good, or so much better than it was. A simple, but perfectly scenographic idea (which was indeed beautiful to look at), bogged down by tedious direction and pacing, and what felt like an inept screenplay adaption of the novel. we were honestly glad when it finally ended, and basically felt almost nothing. a real waste.
