Major Bill Cage is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously demoted and dropped into combat. Cage is killed within minutes, managing to take an alpha alien down with him. He awakens back at the beginning of the same day and is forced to fight and die again... and again - as physical contact with the alien has thrown him into a time loop.

Good movie. Terrible name. They should have just gone with "Live. Die. Repeat." which was put on the Blu Ray. I love movies that mess with time, and this one focuses on its implications and how to effectively use it in a seemingly impossible scenario where humanity shows its cracks in an otherwise desperate situation. Cruise breaks away a bit from his character acting for a little bit as he becomes an unlikely hero paired with Emily Blunt, the certified badass. Even if sci-fi isn't really your jam, this film plays more to being a military drama in a freaky world.
