Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Batman is manipulated by Lex Luthor to fear Superman. Superman´s existence is meanwhile dividing the world and he is framed for murder during an international crisis. The heroes clash and force the neutral Wonder Woman to reemerge.
Studio mismanagement was the real villain in this movie.
The first two thirds of BvS is genuinely great (The directors cut of course). The conspiracy to set Batman and Superman against each other was handled really carefully and patiently. The more attention you pay, the more you see and I love that.
The theatrical version of BvS cuts down massively on the setup which results in a disaster. Cutting down the best part of your movie is not a recipe for success. Another recipe for failure is to try and do 5 movies in 1. Trying to rush to Justice League truly was DCs undoing.
The casting was also great, I even liked Eisenberg's Lex Luthor. Regrettably the film completely devolves in the third act. We go from a smart and patient building of conflict to an overblown CGI nightmare via baffling character decisions and even worse creative decisions. Trust me on this one - the ending is horrible.
Honestly, you can have any opinion on this film and it's probably justified. I choose to love all the build up and just ignore the nightmarish finale.
The audio and visuals are overall incredible. The IMAX scenes look phenominal but the dusty/sandy scenes at the start of the film have WAY too much grain, it's distracting. The audio is solid all the way through.
