Youngest son had his birthday party a little early since he’s gonna be out of town on his actual birthday. He had 4 boys sleepover and we all went and saw Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank at the local cinema. The nice thing about summer birthdays is we’re not limited to weekends for sleepovers, so this was a nice little Monday sleepover. As for this movie…..it has no business playing on the big screen. It has a five star voice cast that is completely wasted on a utterly blah story.
I can normally muster at least a 2 star rating when my kids at least enjoy the movie (which these boys very much did) BUT I fell asleep for about 15 minutes midway through this one. I never fall asleep at the theater.
Add in that they played a Big Nate short film before the movie started (8-10 minutes maybe), plus 18 minutes of trailers including one for a god awful looking Lyle, Lyle Crocodile and this just might be my least favorite theater experience for the year. If your kids are eager to see this, please encourage them to wait for streaming.
