Pregnancy without a good support network takes the joys of parenthood and quickly becomes a curse. Through Valeria we see the many ways in which people who don't take to motherhood can be pariahed culturally and I felt it was explored in a very non-judgemental way. Particularly the subplot of queer people trying to fit in to heteronormative spaces.
