The King of Kings

The King of Kings
Mary Magdalene becomes angry when Judas, now a follower of Jesus, won't come to her feast. She goes to see Jesus and becomes repentant. From there the Bible story unfolds through the Crucifixion and Resurrection.

This silent era movie really isn't all that quiet. The dramatic score is quite impressive and the few words used (title cards only) speak loudly... as does DeMille's camera. Nevermind the long-outdated technical aspects, it's good storytelling.
BTW, the crucifixion scene delivers far more in the way of dramatic special affects than one might expect from a film nearly a century old.
Fun Fact: I wonder how many people will recognize H.B. Warner (in the role of Jesus) as Mr. Gower, the druggist?
