Half a star off for Eggers not actually travelling back to the 1830's and shooting live. š¤£
And also for maybe one too many fancy camera moves, imo you're not supposed to realize until after, if ever; not during.
And slightly disappointing CGI but that's probably because of the lack of time travel I mentioned earlier š¤·āāļø
Still one of the most interesting and thought-provoking directors I've encountered in the last decade. Keep em coming.
Oh, and Bill SkarsgƄrd absolutely nails it as Count Orlok.
