Echo Valley

Echo Valley
Kate is dealing with a personal tragedy while owning and training horses in Echo Valley, an isolated and picturesque place, when her daughter, Claire, arrives at her doorstep, frightened, trembling and covered in someone else's blood.

Buoyed by some great performances, Echo Valley is certainly better than it has any right to be.
The good is the obvious. Moore always delivers, maybe even more so when she's better than the material...and guess what? It kinda goes without saying. Sweeney is a great train wreck too, as anyone that's seen Euphoria can attest. And Gleeson at the very least makes an interesting bad guy. Sprinkle in a little Fiona Shaw and it's a tremendous cast. The climax doesn't exactly work, but ultimately it made a helluva lot more sense than I was expecting.
So what holds it back? It should have been a series...just like Mare of Easttown. The building blocks are there but everything about is far too rushed to carry the intended emotional weight. Something with great potential quickly becomes yet another meh experience.
