I think I might have had a better time at this if I had rewatched the original more recently. This felt pretty reliant on remembering events of the first film. It’s not that I couldn’t follow what was happening, just that there are a lot of references to events of the first that probably make it a little more meaningful. The locations and outfits are all gorgeous and it’s another twisty (perhaps too twisty) murder mystery. I liked the performances as well up until right around a truth serum scene. After that point, things get a little nutty, for plot reasons. I might have been at 3 stars at that point, but the film went on a bit too long after that point. A digital release makes complete sense for this one.
