Clown in a Cornfield

Clown in a Cornfield
Quinn and her father have just moved to the quiet town of Kettle Springs hoping for a fresh start. Instead, she discovers a fractured community that has fallen on hard times after the treasured Baypen Corn Syrup Factory burned down. As the locals bicker amongst themselves and tensions boil over, a sinister, grinning figure emerges from the cornfields to cleanse the town of its burdens, one bloody victim at a time.

Our generation’s Shakesqueer, RuPaul Charles, once said, “You ain’t gotta reinvent the wheel… the wheel is fine, gurl.” And just like that quote, Clown in a Cornfield doesn’t necessarily reinvent the slasher genre. A lot of the beats feel familiar, and a killer clown isn’t exactly groundbreaking anymore. However, what it does with its premise is a whole lot of fun. I had such a good time with this. I loved the small-town vibes, some of the kills, and most importantly, I laughed quite a bit throughout the film. I think if you’re a big fan of slashers like me, you’ll probably enjoy this.
