After finding themselves ensnared in a death trap, an unconventional team of antiheroes must go on a dangerous mission that will force them to confront the darkest corners of their pasts.
Sentry in the comics, In his original appearances is just a bonkers story. It’s basically abandoned for this MCU tangible version. Woulda been wild if they coulda adapted it more faithfully. That said there is some Sentry/Void and Yelena stuff that really clicked with me. It got me feeling pretty emotional dealing with the trauma, depression and loneliness of it all. The big battle of this was both what you’d expect and also not at all what you would expect, so that was refreshing. The snarky nature of almost every character (besides red guardian and sentry) wears pretty thin. Marvel has an apathy problem when dealing with the otherwise super serious situations, FF did this better. Too many characters exist in snarky and jokey realm. Not every character needs to be this way Marvel. I’ve come to hate a “cut the tension” joke on the tail of something heavy/serious… that said though, the sxene had me going from actual tears wirh bob and Yelena console to tears of laughter with the evil pillow joke. Talk about short changing taskmaster. It was a real Slipknot situation, at least Slipknot got to be a part of the team for 5 min though. Why was she even used in the marketing? idk. Some stuff really wasnt working for me but once again, despite being far from perfect, there is a lot to like and have fun with, and some emotional stuff really did work for me in here.
