Joker 2: Smoker, Midnight Toker...(I make my notes on the run):
I don't get the hate for this at all. It seems almost hypocritical that people who loved the first Joker so much are panning this. The first one was good, not some masterpiece though.
OMG music?! 🎶 How dare they? Like the entire first movie is needle drops ffs....is it because it's mostly diagetic now?
I get why people might not like it but holy moly right now this has a review score lower than The Room.
It's not perfect and it's got problems but not 32% RT score problems, wtf ppl?
It kind of reminded me of Wolfs (2024) where it's mostly a movie: a ton of questionable shot-reverse-shots, or green screen effects that made it feel unreal (in a bad way)....except this had some fucking style, whereas Wolfs did not.
I think if this had had one, massive, banger song in it, it would have gone a long way 🤣 like, imagine the next "Shallow," a hit movie song that people will sing at Karaoke. And it's fucked up and dark but slaps, kinda like Dirtman! 😂
Or, if this came out before Joker (somehow🪄) I think it would have been a hit. You could smash both these movies into a 3.5 hour roller coaster and it would work with some ✂️🎞️🎞️
All the acting is on point. the cinematography is half-there, which is a valid complaint... sometimes it just takes you out of the movie more than it should, or did for me anyway 🤷♂️
Music is great but different. Go in open-minded, at least.
I thought the first Joker was fine but I literally hadn't seen it til this year, so am not some part one fanboy. I probably even overrated it by half a star, so I'm just gonna do the same here.
I look forward to listening to the reviews I've been dodging (until the 4k came out) so I can see what the fuss is about.
smh...ahc
