Look, I was a full-grown adult when this dropped—and I’m not even embarrassed to say I loved every second. 🥲💥
Sky High is the kind of movie that just works. It shouldn’t. It’s technically a Disney Channel-ish superhero teen flick with wacky powers and comic book logic—but it has heart, humor, and surprisingly great performances. Kirk Douglas (!!!), Danielle Panabaker, and a whole cast of lovable weirdos make this feel like Harry Potter meets X-Men, but without the trauma or the lawsuits.
It’s a superhero school story, yes—but it’s also a coming-of-age story, a found-family story, and honestly?? A movie I rewatch more than I’d like to admit. If it’s on, I’m sitting down. I don’t care if I’m folding laundry or existentially spiraling—Sky High will save me. 🫶🦸♂️
It’s clever. It’s sweet. It’s somehow aged better than half of the Marvel stuff now. Kids, adults, or jaded grown-ups pretending not to cry? This one’s for you.
