this is not only the best guardians movie, but it is also a top 3 marvel movie in general. gotg 2 has the best humor, soundtrack, and characters in all of the trilogy. while all 3 movies have extremely emotional moments gotg 2 has my personal favorite being yondu’s ravager funeral at the very end.
everything from groot dancing in the opening scene to the fireworks going off at the end is truly peak marvel. songs like “Mr. Blue Sky”, “Come a Little Bit Closer”, “The Chain”, and “Father and Son” really bring the movie to life and are truly some of the greatest songs of that time period.
this movie masters the comedy aspect as well. I believe this movie has the most iconic moments in the gotg franchise. drax and mantis have such a funny and heartwarming relationship, peter and gamora’s relationship going from awkward to difficult and back again is always fun to watch.
in the end, while I believe that gotg 1 & 3 are both incredible entries to the trilogy and it would not be the same without them. I think that gotg 2 should get more recognition and get the respect it deserves as one of the best marvel movies of all time.
