Black Rain
Two New York cops get involved in a gang war between members of the Yakuza, the Japanese Mafia. They arrest one of their killers and are ordered to escort him back to Japan. In Japan, however, he manages to escape. As they try to track him down, they get deeper and deeper into the Japanese Mafia scene and they have to learn that they can only win by playing the game the Japanese way.

A classic noir thriller, and one of Ridley Scott's finest, brooding films.
Douglas as the cocky, fish out of water using his 'questionable street nouse', Garcia's innocent and naive younger partner, come up against the 'straight by the book' Japanese honour system in policing.
This is one to watch before you die, and should be on everybody's bucket list. They just don't make enough films with this kind of atmosphere anymore, particularly in relation to what becomes of Garcia.
