Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi
Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) battles horrible Jabba the Hut and cruel Darth Vader to save his comrades in the Rebel Alliance and triumph over the Galactic Empire. Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) reaffirm their love and team with Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams), the Ewoks and the androids C-3PO and R2-D2 to aid in the disruption of the Dark Side and the defeat of the evil emperor.

Here’s the problem with ROTJ. It was a giant commercial for toys. Ewok toys. New playsets. Cuteness had found its way into Star Wars and it took over. To the over all detriment of the movie. Han Solo became a cowardly idiot, a group of teddy bears took down one of the most well organized and trained troops in the galaxy, Chewie swings from a tree and does the Tarzan yell, and oh yeah, Boba Fett “death” was treated as a punchline for a burp joke. Just stupid. Luke Skywalker came out of this though as a total badass and is one of the most redeemable characters of this film. It just felt too kiddie especially coming off the dark and gritty Empire Strikes Back. An acceptable Star Wars film just not a very good one.
