A sort of full length remake of a short from Bava’s classic Black Sabbath. I'm not quite sure how to express my thoughts on this one as it falls in that realm of I appreciate the artistry but failed to resonate and connect.
I love how it genuinely feels like a folk horror film from the 70's. The setting and time period fit perfect within some sort of Jean Rollin film. And don't get me started on the praise for the vampire puppet.
Plenty to like upfront about The Vourdalak though not leaving much of a lasting impression.
