Barry Seal was just an ordinary pilot who worked for TWA before he was recruited by the CIA in 1978. His work in South America eventually caught the eye of the Medellín Cartel, associated with Pablo Escobar, who needed a man with his skill set. Barry became a drug trafficker, gun smuggler and money launderer. Soon acquiring the title, 'The gringo that always delivers'.

Tom Cruise is still a movie star!
His charisma pours off the screen. He makes his character so a likeable and feel as if he can smooth talk anyone. It was so good seeing him return to drama! The rest of the cast does a great job with a great performance from Sarah Wright, who I've never seen before. The story is very interesting and compelling. It's crazy to see how messed up the government let things get back in the day. Doug Liman has such a slick style on display and I dug it! I wish we got a little more family interaction with Cruise or more time to reflect on what he was doing, but this is such a fun time that those questions easily slip to the background. Theirs also some great dark humor in this. I hope it doesn't take 9 more years to get Cruise to do another R rated flick!
