Absolutely terrible. I honestly think they're paying people to review it, because the critic score doesn't like up with reality at all. I get people have a differing of opinions but I honestly can't see how anyone would watch this and think it's good. I saw one review calling it a good movie and that the bad reviews must be because of politics (turned out to be a Mel Gibson directed movie). So it could honestly just be Mel Gibson complaining to the right wingers that it's getting a bad wrap for no reason but that he's MAGA and to give a good review.
Worst movie I've ever seen, by far. I'm a movie and TV buff, and love almost anything. This was just terrible all around. The acting is abysmal. The CGI was terrible. It looks like it was shot on a cell phone. The storyline was lazy. The script was pathetic. And the directing that brought it all together was the worst part.
I honestly don't really know how anyone saw this and thought it was decent, let alone good. It's a "Thriller" but there was nothing thrilling about it. I knew what was going to happen before it happened, and I never saw the trailer. I'm a big Mark Wahlberg fan, and saw he had a new movie out and was excited. They didn't even properly color match the bald cap so you could pretty clearly see the line where it was on his head, which bugged me most of the movie
The whole movie is just 4 scenes, the cheaply put together motel room, the scene where he's brought to the plane, the plane itself (which is about 95% of the movie), and the tarmac at the end. And doing a movie where 95% of the movie being in this little plane CAN work, but you need strong dialogue and acting. This movie had neither of these. I spent most of the movie thinking "Okay this is really bad, but for such a decent critic score, it must turn around at some point". It didn't.
It feels like a cash grab, like whoever came up with this had a debt they had to pay off and just wanted to put something together for as cheap as possible, as quick as possible, putting in as little effort in as possible, and just sell tickets based off the stars alone. By far Mark's worst movie. About halfway through I told my wife whoever directed it should never be allowed to direct again. Found out after the movie that it was Mel Gibson, which didn't really surprise me.
Do not spend any amount of money to see this movie, even if you're curious. Wait for streaming.
