Tough Det. Sgt. Dave Starsky (Paul Michael Glaser) and educated Det. Sgt. Ken "Hutch" Hutchinson (David Soul) are plainclothes cops taking on dope dealers, muggers, and other thugs, aided by their souped-up red-and-white 1974 Ford Special Edition Gran Torino and their informant, Huggy Bear (Antonio Fargas). Both bachelors' private lives play out as interweaving threads in the drama.

Liked it back then and still like it now. This was a highlight of the week back in the day, incredibly popular. Looking at it now being 60 the 1st series is by far the best, no faffing about and the charisma of the two stars wildly apparent. The further the series went on it did get a bit silly putting them in pretty ridiculous situations (episode Dandruff omg). The car was another star and I did like the fact that most of the time it was filmed 'real' with Soul and Glaser driving. It's not The Wire for authenticity it's just great entertainment - and who can forget Hutch's slam onto the car roof from the pilot episode...
