Teen/sex comedies from this era are my comfort movies. Even the worst produced ones still pique my interest and I manage to come out entertaines. They're always outlandish and focused on being fun.
Private School embodies the era's mix of hilarity, romance, and hijinks. A lighthearted exploration of the high jinks and romances within an elite private school setting. The playful tone and energetic performances from the cast bring a youthful and vibrant energy. Betsy Russell riding a horse baring it all is just one of the greatest sequences I've ever seen in one these movies, I'm surprised it's not hailed as a classic for that alone.
The movie strikes a balance between risqué humor and innocent romantic comedy, making it a fun watch for 80's coming of age films. Private School remains a lighthearted and enjoyable trip, capturing the spirit of adolescence, first loves, and the antics that come with navigating the complexities of high school life.
