The Town That Dreaded Sundown

The Town That Dreaded Sundown
65 years after a masked serial killer terrorized the small town of Texarkana, the so-called "moonlight murders" begin again. Is it a copycat or something even more sinister? A lonely high-school girl may be the key to catching him.

The Town That Dreaded Sundown is one of best small town slasher movie I’ve ever seen. The use of the Texarkana setting, how it uses the real life crimes and the 80s film, and the way the townsfolks react to the murders really help make this story feel as real as possible. And the slasher sequences are also so well done. The lack of background music at times makes the scenes feel so eerie and real. And the cinematography is really good with many split diopter shots and wide shots and longer takes and deep brighter colors. I’ve always been very impressed by this film. It could have easily been a quick cash grabby remake but it isn’t. It’s a very well made slasher movie. I recommend this.
