Passable Yet Struggling to Hold On "Allegiant" tries to push the Divergent saga into bigger, more sci-fi-heavy territory-but in doing so, it loses much of what made the earlier entries engaging. The visuals are certainly more ambitious, with new tech, strange landscapes, and high-concept ideas, but the execution doesn't quite match the scale it's aiming for. The cast does its best with a script that feels stretched thin and often drifts into exposition overload. Character development takes a backseat to convoluted plot mechanics, and the emotional stakes that once held the story together start to feel hollow. It's not that "Allegiant" is terrible-it's just... fine. Passable. A serviceable watch if you've come this far with the series, but hardly the payoff one might hope for. It has its entertaining moments and still carries some visual flair, but ultimately feels like a franchise running out of steam before reaching the finish line.
