This one’s pure B-movie madness, watched it for the title alone and stayed for the lunar shark warfare. The premise? Decades ago, the USSR developed unkillable sharks and launched them to the moon. Now, a team of American astronauts stumbles into their orbit and gets a front row seat to toothy chaos. It’s The Asylum doing what they do best: low-budget spectacle, wild CGI and dialogue that sounds like it was written during a Red Bull binge. The cast commits, Maxi Witrak leads the charge as Commander Nicole and the rest of the crew delivers lines with the kind of sincerity that makes you root for them, even when the plot goes full moon madness. The effects? Gloriously cheap. The sharks? Growling, glowing and defying physics. The pacing? Fast enough to keep you entertained, slow enough to let you question your life choices. I liked it for what it is: unapologetic, ridiculous and weirdly watchable. It’s the kind of movie that made adult years feel like a late night sci-fi channel fever dream, with lunar landscapes, Soviet experiments and sharks that really should’ve stayed in the ocean.
