Kincade controls the area's water supply and is about to force the ranchers into contracts at exorbitant rates. Government Agent Saunders has a plan that will open up the lost river and dry up Kincade's supply. So he gets the ranchers to insist on a clause that Kincade's land will revert to the public if he fails to deliver water.

“Riders of Destiny” is an early B-Western featuring a young John Wayne as a singing cowboy, complete with noticeably dubbed vocals. The plot is pure formula: a land baron controls the water supply, and Wayne rides in to set things right. The dialogue is stiff, the characters thin, and there’s little here beyond genre clichés. Unless you're a die-hard Western buff or a John Wayne completist, it’s easily skippable.
